EK1 is a peptide-based fusion inhibitor of coronaviruses (CoVs) with broad spectrum inhibition to a number of CoV species. EK1 shows substantially improved pan-CoV fusion inhibitory activity. EK1 potently inhibits SARS-CoV-2. EK1 can form a stable six-helix bundle (6HB) structure with both short alpha-hCoV and long beta-hCoV N-terminal heptad repeats[1].
