Ianalumab (FUT8-KO) is an anti-BAFF-R monoclonal antibody expressed by CHO cells with the fucosyltransferase 8 gene (FUT8) knocked out. Fucose deficiency enhances the ADCC effect of the antibody. Ianalumab (FUT8-KO) can block the interaction between BAFF and BAFF-R and antagonize the apoptosis protection mediated by BAFF[1].
