Antibacterial agent 242, a potent inhibitor of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate reductoisomerase (DXR), demonstrates an IC50 of 5.46 µM against Toxoplasma gondii. It effectively inhibits the enzymatic activity of TgDXR in vitro as well as the proliferation of T. gondii.
