Capryloyl glycine is a non-protein amino acid that has been identified as a potential biomarker for photosynthetic activity. Capryloyl glycine is a potent inhibitor of the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeasts. It was found to inhibit the growth of bacteria by blocking their ability to synthesize fatty acids in liver cells.
