Inactivates phosphinothricin (PPT) by transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl CoA. This enzyme is an effector of phosphinothricin tripeptide (PTT or bialaphos) resistance. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-183 from streptomyces viridochromogenes PAT, fused to His-SUMO-Tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
