| The 20kD variant form of human growth hormone (20kD hGH) presents in extracts from pituitary glands and it differs from the major form of hGH (22kD, 191 amino acids) by the deletion of amino acid residues 32-46. The physiological role of 20kD hGH remains to be determined partly but it regards the main function as stimulation of somatic and bone growth, as well as an increase in the size and mass of organs and tissues. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa27-202 of human growth hormone, expressed in E. coli.
