Serpin B5, also known as Maspin, is a secreted member of the Serpin family although it has no known serine protease inhibitor activity. It is produced by mammary epithelial cells and functions as a tumor suppressor. Serpin B5 is a valuable biomarker of tumor progression and overall prognosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant human Maspin is ~100ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 25ng/lane under reducing conditions. Immunoprecipitation: 25ug/ml. Conditioned cell culture medium spiked with recombinant human Maspin Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant human Maspin is ~15ng/well Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
