SiR-Hoechst is a far-red fluorescent DNA probe commonly utilized for live-cell time-lapse imaging. It exhibits minimal toxicity even at concentrations as high as 10-25 µM. However, at concentrations significantly below 1 µM, SiR-Hoechst can induce a DNA damage response and G2 arrest.
