The original antibody was generated by immunizing Lama glama with omalizumab conjugated with human serum albumin. The panning for selection of anti-omalizumab nanobodies involved a first step of pre-adsorption to remove reactive clones against epitopes other than the paratope of omalizumab. Phage supernatents were then incubated with omalizumab to isolate the original antibody.
