Protein induced by vitamin K deficiency-II, protein induced by vitamin K absence-II, abnormal prothrombin glycoprotein
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with a polypeptide sequence based on the 11th-26th amino acid sequence of PIVKA-II. This region specifically lacked gamma-carboxylation, which helped distinguish it from normal thrombin. An additional 8 amino acid sequence was added to enhance immunogenicity. The immunogen was coupled to KLH using EDC as a crosslinker.
