The original mouse antibody 5.11A1 was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with recombinant human CD28-Fc fusion protein and boosted with B lymphoma cell line transfected with human CD28. Later on the CDRs of the original mouse antibody were cloned into human IgG1 framework regions to obtain the humanized antibody.
