The original antibody rAb-53 was generated from the PCR products obtained from the human B cell clones isolated from CSF plasma of an neuromyelitis optica (NMO-IgG) seropositive patient using a dual vector transient transfection system. The affinity matured version was generated by using saturation mutagenesis.
