| The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the conversion of tyrosine to dopamine. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines, hence plays a key role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive Segawa syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. |

Western blot analysis of lysates from PC-12 cells, using Phospho-Tyrosine Hydroxylase-S40 pAb (AP1109) at 1:1000 dilution or Tyrosine Hydroxylase antibody (A0028). PC-12 cells were treated with Forskolin (30 uM) at 37°C for 30 minutes. Secondary antibody: HRP-conjugated Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (AS014) at 1:10000 dilution. Lysates/proteins: 25µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% BSA. Detection: ECL Basic Kit (RM00020). Exposure time: 3s. |
