Angiopoietinlike protein 3 (ANGPTL3) is also known as Angiopoietinrelated protein 3, Angiopoietin5 (ANGPT5 / ANG5), is a member of the angiopoietinlike family of secreted factors. ANGPTL3 / ANGPT5 is predominantly expressed in the liver, and has the characteristic structure of angiopoietins, consisting of a signal peptide, Nterminal coiledcoil domain and the Cterminal fibrinogen (FBN)like domain. The FBNlike domain in angiopoietinlike 3 protein was shown to bind alpha5/beta3 integrins, and this binding induced endothelial cell adhesion and migration. This protein may also play a role in the regulation of angiogenesis. Angptl3 also acts as dual inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL), and increases plasma triglyceride and HDL cholesterol in rodents. ANGPTL3 inhibit endothelial lipase to catalyze HDLphospholipid and increase HDLPL levels. Circulating PLriched HDL particles have high cholesterol efflux abilities. - Proteine/Peptide
