Envelope glycoprotein that forms spikes at the surface of virion envelope. Essential for the initial attachment to heparan sulfate moieties of the host cell surface proteoglycans. Involved in fusion of viral and cellular membranes leading to virus entry into the host cell. Following initial binding to its host receptors, membrane fusion is mediated by the fusion machinery composed at least of gB and the heterodimer gH/gL. May be involved in the fusion between the virion envelope and the outer nuclear membrane during virion egress. Also plays a role, together with gK, in virusinduced celltocell fusion (syncytia formation). - Proteine/Peptide
Immobilized Biotinylated HSV-2 (strain 333) Glycoprotein B (gB), His,Avitag (Cat. No. GLB-V82E3) at 1 µg/mL (100 µL/well) on streptavidin (Cat. No. STN-N5116) precoated (0.5 µg/well) plate can bind Mouse anti-Herpes virus 1 and 2, clone T111, Mouse IgG1 with a linear range of 0.02-1 ng/mL (QC tested).
Biotinylated HSV-2 (strain 333) Glycoprotein B (gB), His,Avitag on SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) condition. The gel was stained overnight with Coomassie Blue. The purity of the protein is greater than 90%.
