Interleukin17F (IL17F) is also known as Interleukin24 (IL24), Cytokine ML1, is a secreted disulfidelinked homodimer which belongs to the IL17 family. There are at least six members of the IL17 family in humans and in mice: IL17A, IL17B, IL17C, IL17D, IL17E (also called IL25) and IL17F (also called IL24). IL17 represents a family of structurally related cytokines that share a highly conserved Cterminal region but differ from one another in their Nterminal regions and in their distinct biological roles. IL17F / IL24 is expressed in activated, but not resting, CD4+ Tcells and activated monocytes. IL17F / Interleukin24 stimulates the production of other cytokines such as IL6, IL8 and granulocyte colonystimulating factor, and can regulate cartilage matrix turnover. IL17F / IL24 stimulates PBMC and Tcell proliferation and Inhibits angiogenesis. Defects in IL17F are the cause of familial candidiasis type 6 (CANDF6). - Proteine/Peptide
