Mannosebinding lectin (MBL) is also known as mannosebinding protein, mannanbinding protein (MBP), Mannosebinding protein C, Collectin1 (COLEC1), MBL2, which belongs to the class of collectins in the Ctype lectin superfamily. MBL contains one Ctype lectin domain and one collagenlike domain. MBL has an oligomeric structure (400700 kDa), built of subunits that contain three presumably identical peptide chains of about 30 kDa each. MBL is calciumdependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. MBL binds mannose, fucose and Nacetylglucosamine on different microorganisms and activates the lectin complement pathway. MBL binds to late apoptotic cells. MBL may bind DNA. - Proteine/Peptide
Human MBL, His Tag on SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) condition. The gel was stained overnight with Coomassie Blue. The purity of the protein is greater than 95%.
