ACDC is expressed in adipose tissue exclusively. It is a protein with similarity to collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. The protein circulates in the plasma and is involved with metabolic and hormonal processes.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6531a was selected from the N-term region of human ACDC. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
