OGN is a protein which induces ectopic bone formation in conjunction with transforming growth factor beta. This protein is a small proteoglycan which contains tandem leucine-rich repeats (LRR).

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6578a was selected from the N-term region of human OGN. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
