Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6594a was selected from the N-term region of human TUBB4. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
