SSB3 may be a substrate recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin BC-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6691c was selected from the Center region of human SSB3. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
