Myoglobin is a member of the globin superfamily and is expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscles. The protein is a haemoprotein contributing to intracellular oxygen storage and transcellular facilitated diffusion of oxygen.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6708b was selected from the C-term region of human Myoglobin. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
