ITM2A is induced during thymocyte selection and T cell activation and causes downregulation of CD8 when overexpressed in CD4(+)CD8(+) double positive thymocytes.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6765a was selected from the N-term region of human ITM2A. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
