HARP is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins. Members of this family have helicase and ATPase activities and are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. This protein shows sequence similarity to the E. coli RNA polymerase-binding protein HepA.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6864c was selected from the Center region of human HARP. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
