TPH1 is a member of the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family. This protein catalyzes the first and rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of serotonin, an important hormone and neurotransmitter.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6930a was selected from the N-term region of human TPH1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
