EPB42 is an ATP-binding protein which may regulate the association of protein 3 with ankyrin. The protein probably has a role in erythrocyte shape and mechanical property regulation.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP7493c was selected from the Center region of human EPB42. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
