TBC1D4 may act as a GTPase-activating protein for RAB2A, RAB8A, RAB10 and RAB14. Isoform 2 promotes insulin-induced glucose transporter SLC2A4/GLUT4 translocation at the plasma membrane, thus increasing glucose uptake.

Target:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8523a was selected from the N-term region of human TBC1D4. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
