Transfers 1,4-N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from UDP-GalNAc to the non-reducing end of glucuronic acid (GlcUA). It is required for addition of the first GalNAc to the core tetrasaccharide linker and for elongation of chondroitin chains.

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8777c was selected from the Center region of human CSGALNACT2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
