Conjugation of reduced glutathione to a wide number of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles. This isozyme has a high catalytic efficiency with 4-hydroxyalkenals such as 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE).

The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8970a was selected from the N-term region of human GSTA4. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
