SDS encodes one of three enzymes that are involved in metabolizing serine and glycine. L-serine dehydratase converts L-serine to pyruvate and ammonia and requires pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. The encoded protein can also metabolize threonine to NH4+ and 2-ketobutyrate. The encoded protein is found predominantly in the liver.

Form: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
Target: The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP9041a was selected from the N-term region of human SDS. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
