Davunetide possesses neuroprotective, neurotrophic and cognitive protective roperties. Davunetide, a microtubule-stabilizing peptide, interacts with and stabilises neuron-specific betaIII-tubulin in vitro. Davunetide penetrates the blood-brain barrier and is non-toxic. Davunetide inhibits Abeta aggregation and Abeta-induced neurotoxicity.
