Ginsenoside Rg5 is the main ingredient of red ginseng. Ginsenoside Rg5 blocks the binding of IGF-1 to its receptor with an IC50 of about 90 nM. Ginsenoside Rg5 also inhibited COX-2 mRNA expression by inhibiting DNA binding activity of NF-kappaB P65.
