Beta-mangostin (beta -mangostin) is a compound of oxyxanthone present in Cratoxylum arborescens, which has antibacterial and antimalarial activities. The MIC value of beta-mangostin against M. tuberculosis was 6.25 µg/mL. Beta-mangostin showed anti-malarial activity in vitro with IC50 value of 3.00 µg/mL against P. falciparum. Beta-mangostin has strong anticancer activity against various cancers, such as hepatocellular carcinoma and leukemia.
