Helenalin is an anti-inflammatory sesquiterpene lactone, it selectively inhibits transcription factor NF-kappaB by directly targeting p65. Helenalin effectively inhibits C/EBPbeta at least 10 times higher than that for NF-kappaB (EC50 values were determined between 0.1 and 0.4 µM for C/EBPbeta).
