CD15 plays a role in mediating phagocytosis, bactericidal activity, and chemotaxis. It is present on >95% of granulocytes including neutrophils and eosinophils and to a lesser degree on monocytes. In addition, CD15 is expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells and some epithelial cells. CD15 antibody is very useful in the identification of Hodgkins disease. CD15 is occasionally expressed in large cell lymphomas of both B and T phenotypes which otherwise have a quite distinct histological appearance. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF405S and CF405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA pH 9.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min|Flow cytometry 2-4 ug/million cells|Immunofluorescence 2-4 ug/mL|Immunohistology (formalin) 5-10 ug/mL|Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by user
