C10orf140, also known as DLN-1, is an 827 amino acid protein that belongs to the DACH/dachshund family. C10orf140 contains a poly-Alanine region that is highly polymorphic. The gene encoding C10orf140 maps to human chromosome 10, which spans nearly 135 million base pairs, makes up approximately 4.5% of total DNA in cells and encodes nearly 1,200 genes.
