MCG-02 is a potent small molecule inhibitor of the cysteine proteases cruzain (CRZ) in Trypanosoma cruzi (IC50 = 0.2 µM) and cathepsin L-like protease (CATL) in Trypanosoma brucei (IC50 = 0.02 µM).
