Ibetazol is a cell-permeable small molecule inhibitor of nuclear import protein KPNB1 (importin beta1). It covalently binds to Cys585, blocking importin beta1-mediated nuclear transport with an EC50 of 6.1 µM. This inhibitor is used in vitro to study nucleocytoplasmic transport, viral infection mechanisms, and cancer cell signaling pathways.
