Immunogen:
recombinant full length human A2aR
Adenosine A2a receptor (A2aR) is expressed mainly in the brain, heart and on cells of the immune system. Its ligand, extracellular adenonosine, is generated in local tissues under hypoxic, ischemic or inflammatory conditions, and can lead to increased A2aR expression. This receptor has neuromodulatory functions, affects cardiac rhythm, cerebral and renal blood flow, sleep, neurodegenerative disorders, and is involved also in pain regulation. It is a novel therapeutic target for depression. In human and murine monocytes and macrophages A2aR modulates the production of inflammatory cytokines.
