BMAP 28 is a 28 amino acid bovine myeloid cathelicidin exhibiting multiple activities against bacteria and fungi. BMAP 28 has an alpha helical structure and this acts to disrupt cell membranes, and can inhibit pan-drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (PDRAB) though interaction with its outer membrane proteins (OMPs). It can also induce membrane permeabilization and death in human tumour cell lines.
