[Leu31,Pro34]-NPY microinjected into the periaqueductal gray produces both analgesic and anxiolytic effects in rats, and intrathecal administration of [Leu31,Pro34]-Neuropeptide Y (human, rat) can attenuate itch behaviour in mice.
