Product Description

Etomoxir is an irreversible inhibitor of mitochondrial carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1 (CPT1). Etomoxir inhibits beta-oxidation in mitochondria and also inhibits cardiolipin biosynthesis from exogenous fatty acid in H9c2 cells, and is widely used to study fatty acid oxidation. Etomoxir has been investigated as a therapeutic agent for heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
