PDP-EA is an activity enhancer of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). FAAH is a conserved amidase widely present in animals and plants, which is responsible for hydrolyzing N-acylethanolamines (NAEs, such as Anandamide (HY-10863)) into free fatty acids and ethanolamine. PDP-EA accelerates the degradation of NAE bioactive lipids by relieving product inhibition. In plant research, PDP-EA can be used as a tool compound to simulate the high-activity state of FAAH for growth studies, while in neurobiology, it can be applied to investigate the homeostatic regulation of the endocannabinoid system[1][2].
