Nothofagin, a dihydrochalcone, is isolated from rooibos (Aspalathus linearis)[1]. Nothofagin downregulates NF-kappaB translocation through blocking calcium influx. Nothofagin has antioxidant activity and ameliorates various inflammatory responses such as the septic response and vascular inflammation[2].
