Leptospermone is a pre-emergent/post-emergent bioherbicide, antibacterial agent and mosquito larvicide. Leptospermone acts as a competitive and reversible inhibitor of 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) with an IC50 value of 12.1 µM. Leptospermone also exhibits inhibitory activity against carbonic anhydrase in Aedes aegypti, with IC50 values of 427 nM (high-affinity site) and 199 µM (low-affinity site)[1][2][3][4].
