ATV399 is an inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) inhibitor. ATV399 reduces NO production via allosteric inhibition of iNOS dimerization, thereby protecting rat pancreatic islet beta-cells from cytokine-induced mitochondrial stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and apoptosis. ATV399 can be used in research related to type 1 diabetes[1].
