Showdomycin is a C-nucleoside antibiotic. Showdomycin inhibits bacterial cell wall biosynthesis by targeting MurA1 (IC50 = 10 µM) and MurA2, thereby exerting antibacterial activity against *Staphylococcus aureus*. Showdomycin reacts with the sulfhydryl group at the nucleotide-binding site of Na+/K+-ATPase and serves as a chemical tool for detecting bacterial pathogenicity-related enzymes. Showdomycin exhibits inhibitory activity against leukemia cancer cells. Showdomycin can be used in studies related to bacterial infections, malignant brain tumors and leukemia[1][2][3].
