(-)-Lupinine is an alkaloid and membrane fusion inhibitor. (-)-Lupinine does not affect the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines during the host response to Serratia proteamaculans infection. (-)-Lupinine can enhance the expression of the bacterial surface protein OmpX [1].
