Lactoperoxidase, bovine milk, an antimicrobial protein, is a mammalian heme peroxidase superfamily member isolated from bovine milk with antibacterial activity. Lactoperoxidase, bovine milk catalyzes oxidation of thiocyanate, iodide, and bromide with hydrogen peroxide to form hypothiocyanite and hypoiodite. Lactoperoxidase, bovine milk can be used for the research of bacterial infections and cancer[1].
