ELOVL1-IN-2 is a ELOVL1 inhibitor with an IC50 of 21 µM. ELOVL1-IN-2 inhibits the condensation step of fatty acid elongation and reduces the synthesis of very long-chain fatty acids, including C26:0 VLCFA. ELOVL1-IN-2 decreases the synthesis of C26:0 lysophosphatidylcholine in mammalian cells. ELOVL1-IN-2 is applicable to the research of adrenoleukodystrophy[1].
